IP address

An IP (Internet Protocol) address is a unique address that is assigned to you through your ISP (Internet service provider). This address can be used to identify and communicate with others through a computer network by utilizing the Internet Protocol. In simple terms, an IP address could be thought of a street address or a phone number. When communicating with another Internet user your simply "mailing" or "dialing" their IP in order to communicate.
